About Kuchipudi
Kuchipudi is a classical dance form that originated around 15th century in the village of Kuchipudi in Andhra Pradesh, India. At that time, Kuchipudi was performed by Brahmin men only. These days, kuchipudi has been enriched by both men and women performing the dance form.
The technique of Kuchipudi closely follows the principles set forth in the ‘Natya Shastra’. The rich footwork, elegant grace, expressions of moods and feelings combined with rhythm and melody, define Kuchipudi dance form.
